Il Ponte Contemporanea

Danilo Bucchi

Danilo Bucchi was born in Rome, polymateric body more than just city, archeology of the future that will give its iconographic code in his visual DNA. DB was born in 1978, in an open-minded era but during a period also made up of Roman closures, where the high artistic avant-garde crossed the conceptual recovering the ways of painting, the same that DB will move the first steps towards the first works and the earliest exhibitions. The Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and the former art school had trained DB to the techhniques of drawing and painting. 1998-2001 he worked as a set designer for movies and advertising, absorbing creative patterns and attitudes that will shape his expressive figurative codes. Then it's time for a master's degree in photography, a language that will affect his painting solutions, especially the shots, cuts in perspective, in the contrast between bodies and backgrounds. In 2007 his solo exhibition at the Contemporary Art Society will introduce his work in Beijing, and places it in important international collections. In 2011 DB makes the point over a decade of work with the solo exhibition at the Palazzo Collicola Visual Arts in Spoleto, a few months after the previous show at the MLAC in Rome, who will dedicate the book "Danilo Bucchi- Signs. The black line" published by Gangemi and part ofthe series "Luxflux Proto-Type Contemporary Art". In 2012 DB made his solo show "The Dolls" at the Sabiana Paoli Art Gallery in Singapore. In 2013 his solo show "Danilo Bucchi" at the Emmeotto Gallery in Rome presents his debut in sculpture among other works. In 2013 DB confirms his interest to other languages and realizes a four hands project with fashion designer Antonio Marras for the exhibition "Together we are something else" for the Grand Floor of the Palazzo Collicola Visual Arts, which has produced a valuable book published by Corraini. In 2013 DB goes back to Singapore, this time in the gallery "Mucciaccia & Partners" for the exhibition "Milky Way" alongside giants of the twentieth century such as Basquiat, Rauschenberg, Christo and Mathieu among others. In the meantime, DB continues the dialogue with electronic music, with urban contexts, with the creative publishing, with the potential of video language. DB always speaksthrough the transive verb of painting, polymateric body more than just formal code, eternal archeology where you feel the memory of the sign, the power of the gesture, the essence of color and the circularity of figuration.
